Carter's Easter Pictures

We took Carter to Kiddie Kandid to get some pictures in his cute Easter outfit.  He did a great job and was not fussy at all.  But he did keep putting his fingers in his mouth.  But I love that picture anyway because that is just him.  He also kept trying to walk off the platform with the ladder, he did not want to stand still.  But I think they pictures turned out great!!!

Mommy Tag!

Okay so I know there have been a lot of tags lately, but this one is about being a mom so I had to do it. I tag Sallie, Jill, Amanda, Leah
1. Typically what time do you wake up?
Lately Carter has been sleeping a ton and doesn't wake up until 9 0r 10 am, so that is when I wake up! Awful I know!

2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed? Usually 9 or 10 pm, which is why he wakes up so late. We are trying to get him to bed earlier.

3. How long have you been a mommy? 10 months

4. How old were you when you became a mommy? 25

5. What is your favorite kids tv show? Carter is not old enough to watch kids shows yet.

6. What is your least favorite tv show? Again, I don't watch kids shows yet.

7. What is your favorite chore? I don't really like to clean, but I love to organize.

8. What is your favorite meal to cook?
Turkey Steaks and Broccoli, because it's easy. And chicken Enchiladas with rice

9. What is your kids favorite meal? Milk

10. What is your favorite thing your husband does with your kids?
He always walks around holding him. When he was a few months old it put him to sleep, and now it justs calms him down and makes him content to be in daddy's arms.

11. When was the last time you went out without your kids?
Saturday night we went to a movie with friends. The movie was Horton Hears a Who, and they took their kids. Does that count? We didn't have Carter!

12. When was the last time you told one of your kids 'I love you'? Tonight when I put him to bed.

The Mom Test!

The Mom Test

Just a little story I saw on another blog and thought was cute! I love being a mom and taking care of my sweet boy!

I was walking with my 4 year old
daughter. She picked up something
off the ground and started to put it
in her mouth. I took the item away
from her and I asked her not to do
that.

"why?" my daughter asked.

"Because its been on the ground,
you don't know where it's been, it's
dirty, and probably has germs," I
replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at
me with total admiration and asked,
"Momma, how do you know all this
stuff. You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly, "All moms
know this stuff. It's on the mom
test. You have to know it, or they
don't let you be a mom."

We walked along in silence for 2 or
3 minutes, but she was evidently
pondering this new information.
"Oh...I get it!" she beamed. "So if
you don't pass the test you have to
be a dad."

"Exactly," I replied back with a big
smile on my face.

I've Been Tagged!

How long have you been together?  We will have our 5 year anniversary this year on June 27th.

How long did you date? Um...about a year and a half.  We were friends first so it's hard to say when we actually started dating.

How old is he? 28

Who eats more?  He does.  Well he eats more at one time.  I probably eat more throughout the day.

Who said "I love you" first? I did!  I didn't know how he felt and was so worried about being rejected.  I said, "I have to tell you something."  It was so awkward.

Who is taller? He is.  But not by a lot.  He doesn't like it if I wear big shoes cause then it makes me taller than him.

Who is smarter? We always tease each other because I got good grades in High School and didn't go to college.  He didn't do so well in High School and is a college grad.  I think he is very smart, but doesn't enjoy school like I did.

Who does the laundry? I usually do the laundry.  But Bevin will always help here and there and if he is out of clothes he will put some in the wash.

Who does the dishes? Both, and we both hate it.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.  Which is good because right now the bed is pushed up against the wall on his side which would make it hard to get out of bed at night if I needed to get Carter!

Who pays the bills? I do.  I like to have everything organized and know what is going where, but Bevin always knows what is going on!

Who mows the lawn? We haven't really ever had a lawn to mow and do not own a lawn mower.  In Mesquite we had a little patch of grass and it only got mowed once when we hired someone to do it before we moved.  Growing up since I was the oldest I always got to mow the lawn so I have lots of experience.

Who cooks dinner? It's probably pretty equal.  I like to cook and have been trying to cook more often and try new things.  Bevin's dad is the cook in the house and hopefully Bevin will follow in his footsteps.

Who is more stubborn? Both of us are so stubborn.  But I always claim that Bevin ends up getting his way most of the time.  Just cause he is more competitive and I give up.

Who kissed who first? I kissed his neck while we were watching a movie without even knowing it.  I just felt so comfortable with him.  Then my roommate came home.

Who asked who out? Well like I said we were friends first so we just kept hanging out and I don't even remember an official first date.  I do think that we had a DTR(determine the realationship)! Ha Ha

Who proposed? He did.  At the ranch that he worked at in Idaho.  His friend woke me up in the middle of the night and said that the buffalo had gotten out of the fence and they needed help getting them back in.  So we went running to the barn and he told me to climb up a ladder and stand out on this bridge that went across the barn over the holding area and shine a flashlight so they could see to get the buffalo back in.  Then he was gone.  I was scared to death and started walking out onto the bridge.  Suddenly some light came on that were wrapped around the logs of the barn.  I didn't remember them being there earlier.  When I looked across Bevin was standing on the other side in a tux and holding flowers.  Behind me was his brother taking pictures and filming us.  Then he got down on his knee and pulled out the ring.  I had no idea.  I could not stop shaking first from being scared, then from being so happy!!!

Who is more sensitive? Me.  I am a girl.  I am way more emotional than Bevin.

Who has more friends? We both have lots of friends.  For a guy I think Bevin had kept in touch with a lot of his friends and they are still very close.

Who has more siblings? Bevin...he has 2 sisters and 2 brothers, I have one brother, one sister.

Who wears the pants in the relationship?  Bevin.

I tag Sallie, Jen, Amanda, and Emily

Snowboarding at Bogus Basin!!!

Satuday we went to Bogus Basin which is only about 30 miles from where Amy and Bill live.  Amy had recently taken up snowboarding, Bevin has been a few times, and I have been once.  So we thought it would be fun to try.

Amy boarding down the hill with ease.
Sara and Bevin at the top of the run decked out in our snow boarding gear complete with helmets, goggles, wrist guards, and knee pads.

Sara trying to stay upright while going down the hill!!!

I am not the best at snowboarding.  I spent a lot of time on my butt.  Thanks to Amy and Bevin for being so patient with me.

Bevin enjoying a run down the hill.
We had a blast snowboarding but I think I need to be in better shape and maybe get a few lessons.  We were pretty sore afterward, but I think I would try it again.

Friday in Boise!

We had tons of stuff planned for our weekend trip.  We got up early and went on a hike up this trail right behind where Amy and Bill live.
Amy and Brady (Bill's dog)
After our hike we went back to the house and I highlighted Amy's hair.  Then we went downtown and ate at a yummy place called Asiagos.  We had the best salads and pasta.

After lunch we went shopping and got ready for our night out.  We went to dinner at The Reef and then went to the Egyptian Theatre to see the comedian, Gallagher.
He was hilarious and did a great show!!  We ended the night with some Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Weekend trip to Boise!

We went to Boise on last weekend to hang out with Amy(Bevin's sister) and Bill(Amy's boyfriend).  We needed a trip and thought we would try leaving Carter for his first time without us overnight.  He stayed with Gma and Gpa Myers for a few days and then with Gma and Gpa Cox the last day and a half.  Thanks for taking care of our little boy.  We had a fun time but missed him lots.

Thursday night we went to the USU vs. BSU basketball game.  We were a little uncomfortable sitting among all the Boise fans, but then USU was winning so it wasn't so bad.  It was a great game and USU won!!!

Bear Lake

At the beginning of February we were able to go to Bear lake and stay at the cabin.  We had fun sledding, watching movies, playing the Train Game, and visiting with family.
Carter getting ready to go down the hill for his first time.
Pa wiped out and Bevin going backward.
Carter's cute puffy jacket.  Grandma Myers said it reminded her of the little boy on Christmas Story who can't put his arms down cause his coat is so big.  But he looked very warm and cozy.

We didn't really put Carter down the hill by himself.
Grandpa Myers and Carter

Carter at the cabin enjoying some Diet Coke.

At first he didn't mind being outside and really liked it when Bevin took him down the hill on the tube.
Carter only went down the hill a couple times and then he was ready for a nap in his nice warm bed.

Spitting

The other day Carter kept sticking out his bottom lip and spitting.  He thinks it is so funny.  He ends up soaking wet from all the spit,  Yuck!  And look at that face!

Little Cowboy!

Morgan had been to a square dance the night before so this hat was out.  Since Carter was wearing overalls I thought it would be the perfect picture!  I think he is a hat kid!!

Valentine's Day

The cute boys I love!!!!

My little stud muffin!!!

We had a great Valentines Day.  We went to eat at Olive Garden with Carter and he was so good.  Then Grandma and Grandpa baby sat while we went to Fool's Gold.  Carter got this cute little book with a sing a long CD.  He loves music!

I've Been Tagged!

A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B: Each player answers the questions about themselves. C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 Years Ago Today.... I was 16, young and carefree.  Dating like crazy and probably driving like crazy too with a new drivers license.  In school at Bonneville High and working at Gold's Gym.

5 things on my to-do list today.... Clean, Workout, Do my hair, post more on my blog, find pants that fit(it's never going to happen)

I Enjoy...... being creative, scrapbooking, camping, swimming, going on vacation, outlets in Park City, Diet Coke, Oreos and milk, staying home and eating pizza and watching a movie, visiting with friends that are not close, cooking, playing card games and board games, making Carter laugh, going on walks with Carter and Cooper, reading, Aggie and Jazz games, watching Lost, shopping, going to Bear Lake, being a hair stylist, being a mom, and being a wife.

What would I do if I was suddenly a billionaire? Get a personal trainer to help me lose the rest of my baby weight, travel, save, buy a house, get a maid, invest, give to others, pay 10%, and just shop.

3 of my bad habits: I have so many, where to start.....Being bossy, holding grudges, and holding things in until I explode.

5 places I have lived:

Logan, UT

Salt Lake City, UT

Riverdale, UT

Las Vegas, NV

Mesquite, NV

Jobs I have had:

I have had so many I don't know where to start.

Newspaper Carrier-My very first job. My friend and I delivered papers on our bikes everyday after school and early in the mornings on Sat. and Sun. Definately not the best job. It didn't last very long.

Gold's Gym Daycare-This was one of the easiest jobs I had. It was fun watching the kids and I got a free membership to the gym.

Frosted Rock-My yummiest job!! My neighbors opened this ice cream shop in the mall. I worked there at night after school and loved my co-workers, who were my sister, and some friends from my neighborhood. I loved trying a new flavor of ice cream everyday and meeting the cute boys that were at the mall.

Swiss Reniassance-My first real job. After I got my cosmetologist license I got a job at this salon. I worked as an assistant to the owner, a part-time receptionist, and as a stylist.

Peerless Beauty Supply-My favorite job.  Working with people I enjoy and doing what I enjoy.  And having the best boss ever!!!  Let me know when I can come back.

5 things people dont know about me:
1.  I am scared of the drive through car washes.  It's okay if someone else drives, but I cannot drive through one.  Bad experience once.
2. I don't know how to dive even though my parents have a pool and I took swimming lessons forever when I was a kid.  I just can't do it.
3. I am not competitive and therefore hate playing games with Bevin.
4. I do not like to work outside in the yard.  Growing up I always made up excuses to get out of it.  I am so jealous of all of you who have beautiful yards and love to garden.
5. I took dance classes from when I was 5 until I was in junior high.  I quit because of an awful teacher and wish that I hadn't.  I love to dance.

I tag Sallie, Jen, and Jill!!!

Utah State Aggies

Bevin's sister came for the weekend from Boise and we thought it would be fun to take her to an Aggie game.  We used to love going to the games in college and are excited to be able to go again.  It was an awesome game with high energy as always.  Go Aggies!!!!

The Snow Bunny!!!!

We saw a huge snowman in someone's yard and Kami thought we needed to make one bigger.  So it started with a few people and then turned in to the whole neighborhood, helping to build our huge snowman.  The missionaries even stopped to admire our work.
But somehow as the snowman grew, it didn't look like a snowman.  So someone suggested that it looked like a bunny.  So instead of a snowman, we created a snowbunny!!
Kami, Amy, Morgan, Maggie, Jack, Jimmy, Sara, and Bevin in front of the masterpiece.
We had so much fun building our snowbunny.  We got many honks and stares from those going by.  Thanks to all those who contributed.

Moving to Logan!!

Another snowy day
The Cox House(our temporary home)
Though I was excited to move back to Logan and be closer to our families and friends here, January is not a good time to move here.  I am missing the nice calm weather we were enjoying in Mesquite.  I think it has snowed almost everyday!!!  I forgot how much fun the snow could be.  But it is beautiful here in Logan and we are enjoying it.
